Hi Mike,
I was wondering if you were going to teach a method of creating our own capture pages besides using blinkweb.
Or, more specifically, I have noticed that with the blinkweb capture pages, there are two things that make them look slightly less than professional:
1. At the very bottom of each Blinkweb page it says, "new sales letter, free websites at blinkweb"
2. The url (domain) has the .blinkweb.com attached.
So I was wondering if you were going to cover how to get rid of that stuff. I'm assuming the latter can be remedied by purchasing a domain of our own and mapping it (like you taught us to do with the blog).
Any "early-bird" tips on these two issues would be helpful.
And also-What is your opinion? Do you think it looks less than professional with those aforementioned issues present on a capture page? Would you ever consider having an interactive call for some of us who have been following along with the capture page tutorials and doing a critique? Maybe something similar to the previous tutorials titled "Getting More People Onto Your List" where you reviewed certain content pages.
I know you're busy, but you're also a great model, and there are members like myself who sponge on the way you present and teach - think of it this way, the more you do these things, the sooner you can call upon members (like me) who are willing to do some of this for you.
Thanks Much! This is my favorite blog in the blogosphere.
Hey Mike,
Eric again...I just wanted to post the answer I found to my own question. I thought it'd make for a complete thought if people read my question and had the same question. So here it is...(straight from Blinkweb's "knowledge base")
Get Your Own Domain Name for your website. This option is a great choice for making your site look professional and build credibility with your visitors. So what we are currently doing is we are giving you a 100% free domain name of your choice. Simply pick any available domain name that you want and we will buy it for you. We will also host your website for you for just $1.00 for the first month. The monthly rate after month 1 is currently just $14.95 and includes the ability to add unlimited domains.
You also have access to the site builder, as well as eliminating the fact that you would have to FTP files using a different webhost. With Blinkweb, you just click the 'Save and View Website' button and you're changes are live. Our goal is to provide literally thousands of choices to Blinkweb users. BlinkWeb will evolve greatly over time, as we're constantly striving to increase features and user experience.
I think this option may make sense if you're using ... say ... more than 5 different capture pages to address different target markets and you want your content and capture page to be super relevant.
I have a question about Blinkweb web hosting for lead capture pages and sales pages.
I already have an account with GoDaddy and to register a .com domain name is $10 per year and web hosting is $56 per year.
Now I can create say a lead capture page in Blinkweb, download it to my computer for $9.95 then upload it to GoDaddy. So my total annual cost is $76 in the first year then $66 after that.
Or I can pay Blinkweb $180 per year .Is that for domain hosting and the domain name?
When you say unlimited domains what does that mean. Will Blinkweb host 100 websites with different domain names so i can test keywords and it's still $14.95 per month?
Thanks
