Added a New Tutorial That Wasn't On Calendar
Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at 02:44AM In Marketing Merge Professional (email marketing tutorial area) we did a tutorial showing how to create the contact form to add to your blog or lead capture page. This is for those using I-contact as email marketing system.
For those going through new blogging course, we'll soon show how to put a form on your blog so prospects can join your email list. You'll need an email marketing service (I-contact, Oprius, Awebber ,etc). We have click by click tutorials setting up your email marketing auto-responders with I-contact but note that you absolutely do not want to let them know you're marketing Renegade University since too many students somehow didn't 'get the message' and sent spammy stuff.
However, I recommend people stop using company and system names, and product names altogether in emails anyway... give value in your emails. If you do this you'll be fine using Icontact.
See below about new lead capture page building class.

Hi Mike,
You may want to get into this issue later in training, but how do you feel about using Renegade University in autoresponders when working with RU members as their guide?
I've found that many members don't really realize what they've signed up for and I want to make the connection so they know who I am and why I'm contacting them. Of course, a phone call is best, but they may be in other countries, incorrect phone no., etc.
I want to make sure I understand what the problem was. I am mostly using system names as a type of "walk-through" Renegade University guide in my emails, or explaining how to upgrade when they're ready.
Thanks!
My two cents: when I first get a new sign up, I send them their welcome email from my web mail account which comes with domain names at GoDaddy. In that email, I let them know I'll be sending them my newsletter "Ideas to Grow Your Business" which then goes out from iContact. Knock on wood, no problems yet! :)
Yes, Barbara's suggestion is a very good solution.
Auto email systems frown on 'systems' because spam is common with them. So in emails it's best to try to not use them in auto emails.
