Leveraging the Launch of Black Belt Recruiting
Thursday, July 17, 2008 at 11:54AM Haven't heard of Black Belt Recruiting yet? Click for a review on Black Belt Recruiting!
What if you could get a ton of exposure to your Web 2.0 sites, blog or website in a shorter period of time?
Well, that's what I did... by leveraging product and company launches that I knew my target market would be searching for in the near future.
This post (below) is for those of you who are attracting network marketers. However, anyone can use this strategy so everyone who wants more traffic to their web site or landing pages should read and follow through on this.

Position Yourself Early Within the "Black Belt Recruiting" Frenzy
I'll explain in detail how you can leverage the upcoming launch of Mike Dillard's new book, Black Belt Recruiting to secure more search engine listings for a niche target market within network marketing (people searching for information on Black Belt Recruiting).
Doing this will help you generate leads.
You can generate extra income as you do this.
More important, you can lock yourself in to generate leads and income in an ongoing fashion, for months and years--with little if any ongoing effort.
Following this same type of strategy was my springboard to generate leads daily on a whole new level (I did it twice).
This strategy was also used by Scott Rogers--he now generates 20+ leads a day, every day.
A little over a year ago he wasn't producing anything close to this (and neither was I). He and I (and many others) used this strategy to catapult our success.
It can have the same effect on you.
Create Content About a Current Event that Your Target Market Will Soon Be Searching for in Large Numbers
If you don't 'hit' it this time with the launch of Black Belt Recruiting, you will be much more prepared to 'nail' it the next time a similar opportunity like this comes up.
So follow through on this with the willingness to learn it from the perspective of an insider... by going for it and following up on what I suggest here.
It might end up being a big hit for you this time around with the launch of 'Black Belt Recruiting.'
It may be a smaller but still 'sizable' hit.
Or... you may not be ready to act quickly enough right now to get the bigger results that are possible from this 'Black Belt Recruiting' launch...
But even so, if you give it a try, it can still add to your leads generation 'web of content' presence. It's worth giving it a go at any level.
What I share with you here can be applied to all kinds of things--whenever something new hits the scene in the world of your target market (news, products, company launches, etc).
In this case, it comes in the form of a new book release that 'network marketers' will be searching for in large numbers... Black Belt Recruiting by Mike Dillard and Mark Weiser.
What is Black Belt Recruiting?
Mike Dillard is launching his new book, Black Belt Recruiting on July 22nd.
He partnered with a phone prospecting expert, Mark Weiser. Together they created this book to teach how to apply the attraction marketing principles on the phone when it comes time to connect with the leads you generate.
A lot of network marketers will be hearing about the book in email blasts and promotions, as well as other web content all over the Internet. That's the buzz you want to leverage.
That's the kind of thing you want to always be looking for. I'll explain why in a moment.
Dillard has already started the buzz so we're a little late taking full advantage of this particular 'buzz leveraging' opportunity. I've been so busy on other projects I just didn't think to use this particular book/product launch to teach this special strategy.
But there's still time to go for it if you are in a position to act quickly and massively. (Again, if you can't, just do a little and it will still have the opportunity to get more out of your efforts than usual). At the very least you'll learn a ton and be ready to act quickly on this strategy the next time you see it come up (and it comes up a lot).
I set aside about three hours just today and will focus more each day for a few days to create content at all my locations, to catch as much of this buzz as I can.
What's the strategy exactly?
- Create content as fast as you can for the key word, Black Belt Recruiting. Create it in any possible location within existing Squidoo lenses that already exist. It can just be a paragraph long for now.
- Create it within blog pages that already exist (again, even if you just create something short on the topic).
- Create a blurb on it (value based) in a Hub Page you have.
- Create an ezine article on it.
- Create a new Squidoo lens, or Hub page referencing it.
- Create an entirely new journal at your blog about it.
- Create a video on it.
- Bookmark all the pages with the tag Black Belt Recruiting, Mike Dillard and variations of that, like Dillard's Black Belt Recruiting. Just be sure to follow the rules of social book marking as we lay out in the Professional training area so you're not seen by google to be a spammer.
You don't have to do all of these things, but the more the better as fast as you can.
Why?
Because of timing and the way search engines work and the 'herd' moves.
How "Black Belt Recruiting" Can Generate Ongoing Leads for You with the Search Engines and the Herd Mentality
We're all part of the herd. That's not always a bad thing... in this case it's just a metaphor to describe how us humans behave when we see a social movement in a certain direction.
When new breaks out, or a new book is releases (like in this case, Black Belt Recruiting) to a certain audience... and there's a bunch of buzz built around it, people move in large numbers to take a look at what all the fuss is about. Marketers like Mike Dillard are really good at this. And the bottom line: when you have a list over 100,000 people in a niche market like network marketing it's not too hard to do.
Positioning Yourself with the Search Engines
Mike Klingler, Marketing Merge
If you've been moving through our Professional tutorials, in the social marketing training area, you're building your web of content and learning how to optimize your links and content to get found by people on the search engines.
But here's something you may not know...
When something new and big (that lasts) hits the engines... in other words, when a lot of people all of the sudden start searching for something like 'Black Belt Recruiting,' the search engines seem to look and see how is there first. Those who are early in getting content up for that search term and related variations of that search term seem to be able to lock themselves into position in the search engines.
It's not that the first person who puts content up gets the position. It isn't' so simple. Everything we have been teaching you in the Professional area of Marketing Merge needs to be implemented (links with related anchor text, book marking properly, etc). Those who consistently do this kind of 'correct' marketing and content creation for a new search term that suddenly gets searched by large numbers of people have an opportunity to lock themselves into a great position that sticks.
So here's what I want you to do if you can right now...
Go through the bullet point list above. Do as many of those things as fast as you can between now and several days after the launch of Black Belt Recruiting.
Continue even after the launch-continue building links and content. Don't stop.
You could very well end up on the 1st or 2nd page of Google for Black Belt Recruiting, which would potentially perm
(Again, if you can't do this right now that's fine but see what you can create... give it your best shot... be active in this process during this unique situation and see where the chips fall. At the very least you'll learn a ton, create some more content that will contribute overall to your lead generation process, and you'll be more prepared for the next opportunity like this).
By the way, if you have an account at Marketing Merge log into your Professional training area and go to your Profile. From there you will see a link to learn more about Black Belt Recruiting. You can access a free 1-hour training video where the authors, Dillard and Weiser, discuss some of the attraction principles shared in the book on how to recruit your prosepcts after you've attracted them.
If you've purchased Magnetic Sponsoring, Building on a Budget or any of Dillard's previous books, you already have access to a link (you'll find it by logging into your Magnetic Sponsoring account at www.magneticsponsoringonline.com) You'll want to place that link into your Profile at Marketing Merge so that your prospects who come through your system who get the book, buy it from your URL.

On July 17th I posted the article (directly above).
It's now July 24th and the article appears on the front page of Google for key word search term, "Black Belt Recruiting" at: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=black+belt+recruiting
I accomplished that by doing exactly what I am teaching you at Marketing Merge Professional.
I also noticed two Digg posts on the top of the front page of Google for "Black Belt Recruiting". These Digg posts were both Marketing Merge Professional students. Note that Digg posts are viewed by search engines as 'news' so it's easier to get high rank for a while but they don't stick forever. Still, it's great exposure to your content and self-branding.
Because we work in a social network together, it makes it easier to get listed on the search engines with Digg Posts, Squidoo Lenses, Hub Pages, Ezine articles, your Blog, site, etc.
I've also spotted dozens of other Black Belt Recruiting key word optimized content peices from Marketing Merge students, bouncing from page 1-3 on Google. The more you follow the steps outlined in Phase II training of Marketing Merge the more you secure a higher spot.
The key word search term, "Black Belt Recruiting" and any books launched by Mike Dillard, Ann Sieg or related products, will be most competitive because naturally there are a lot of people competing.
What's important to understand is that you can apply the principles we are teaching for your target market. Even if you're in network marketing there are thousands of other key word search terms to choose to go for.
The point of the above article was to give you a solid proven strategy to secure a top spot for a competitive key word like "Black Belt Recruiting" or anything else that is news or a product / company launch in the future in your target market.

It's Sunday, July 27th. Somewhere on Friday or Saturday I lost my front page position on Google for this article for key word, "Black Belt Recruiting" --- not surprised. As more and more people publish new content for that key word you'll see all kinds of changes early on before things settle in. Things can even shift around for a long time when there are a lot of people competing for one key word. However, those who keep building incoming links and book marking (correctly) will move up and lock in position high.
Is it worth all the effort? I think so. But it's not something you have to do. It's just an option.
I'll probably go for locking in a position on the front page and keep link building and adding new content over time. We'll see where I land as things shake down. I still see a lot of Marketing Merge students on the 1st-3rd page of Google--even if your'e on the 10th page there's plenty of time to keep plugging away at link building to compete for a high ranking.
Is it worth all the effort?
It's true that there will be a lot more competition on this term because those going for the search term Black Belt Recruiting are network marketers learning or doing Internet marketing.
But if you don't want to compete with this group for this particular term (don't blame you) you should still learn to apply this strategy for other news, or product/company launches in the future. They won't all be so highly competitive.
I'll let you know if I can lock in a more stable position with this or other articles for key word Black Belt Recruiting. I'm sure I'll land somewhere decent. Of course, the more people I teach to do this for a particular key word the more competition I create for myself :-)
It's Tuesday, August 5th -- Black Belt Recruiting is back on front page of Google -- why does this happen? Why will you often see your search results move in and out of a good position on the search engines? I'll explain why this happens and how to use this to your advantage.
I have often seen my and other search results land on the front page of Google for a particular key word (like "Black Belt Recruiting" for example) -- only to disappear nowhere to be found (or deep on the 20th page).
That's what happened to this article. And yet, now it's back on the front page. Will it stick?
Here's why you'll see this--
More and more these days recency is becoming increasingly important with where you get listed on the engines in your marketing. By 'recency' I mean the newer posts (and those that are kept current by adding new information).
Of course, all the other things matter (title tags, key words used with incoming links, the number of links to the content, relevant content, etc)...
But new stuff can get listed high. If you continue building more links or adding new content to it over time, it will get 'locked into a high position.
But while you're building links and adding new content over time, you could see a great position get knocked back. That's what happened with this 'Black Belt Recruiting' article you see on this page. It got sent from the front page to the 20th page. Now it's back. That's because I added some new content to the page, some more people have probably linked to it (because it's value based and not promotional in nature). As time goes on it could get bumped further in the listings... but if I keep building on it, it has a good chance of sticking on the front page for Black Belt Recruiting searches.
I didn't actually create this article for promotional reasons but just to use to teach once again that the strategies I teach at Marketing Merge work.
When you see your content land on the front (or even the 2nd - 5th page) of Google or Yahoo that's great. Even if it gets kicked back to the 25th page (or you can't even find it) you should focus over time on that particular page for that key word because it's on the radar. It was already indexed high on the engines. That means it's doing something right.
Also, it's a great page to write down and keep track of for linking to other pages. It's vote will count when promoting other stuff of yours to get other content listed.

Just a quick update here on the topic on January 25th 2009--
I notice that for a while now an article we posted at our main site www.MarketingMerge.com on 'Black Belt Recruiting' has ranked in the #1 position on page 1 of Google--perfect.
This article on "Leveraging the Launch of Black Belt Recruiting" is on page 1 of Google as well, but in the last position of page 1 (still very good). It could still move around but I've noticed for a while that I'm getting a solid good ranking for Black Belt Recruiting searches.
By "Leveraging the News" with the strategy the above article discusses, I was able to land on the first page very quickly with this blog article... and by linking this blog article to my main site with key work anchor text: Black Belt Recruiting, it helped my main site get the #1 ranking.
Let's see how it holds over time. I've seen this strategy work for many search terms and I think this 'public experiment' for key word "Black Belt Recruiting" is a good example of it's power.
Keep learning and APPLYING what you learn!
More training coming up for our Professional training members to give you more insights on how to apply this and other powerful and simple strategies in YOUR chosen field and business.

Hi Mike,
I purchased the Black Belt series but have not had time to listen any further than the first CD.I hope to be able to write about what I have learned as it is past time to write about the series now. I'm hoping that by learning WHAT Black Belt Recruiting is, I can then write about that. Hope that will still work.
Thanks for all your help at RU and beyond.
Michelle
When Leveraging the News, here is a BIG Question to consider so you can really leverage the news and get tons of mileage out of it for a long time to come (Mike talks about this a lot in How I Built My First List):
That question is What value do you offer?
Value, in the attraction model, is your personality + "the conversation” you invoke or inspire and continually come back to, or the crowd you gather ‘round yourself, which is about the topics, and in alignment with what you enjoy (that’s your business) and doing so using the proper tools and web locations to set it all up (the mechanics of it all).
You have to take time to get familiar with these tools and web locations. You have to give yourself time to mature into these things. Depending on your level of experience, and the challenges you face assimilating to these technical aspects, it can take months.
How Does this Happen, Really
:
(Because when you’re just getting started it’s not tangible, it’s only an idea – I know how that feels)
1. Leveraging the News – Alignment with a Movement
• i.e. Twitter for everyone, Renegade Professional for me, or the various somethings in your field of expertise.
2. Providing constant and consistent value to your audience and growing that audience outward.
• i.e. take little opportunities to gain traction (like water freezing into ice in a crack in the road and by spring time that pothole is engulfing the whole front end of your car.
3. Choosing a couple locations (not spread out all over the place) to set up your marketing. Choose your favorites and play to your strengths.
• i.e. it was easier for me to write my thoughts than get in front the camera so I focused Hubpages and Squidoo. Video came later.
4. Setting up a centralized main location where you always bring people to build, maintain and add to the value relationship (this is also where you harvest your leads)
• i.e. capture form, some way to collect leads. At centralized hub (blog), must play on a theme to brand yourself as an expert in that area.
5. When you collect a lead, you give something away in exchange, and if it’s not something physical (i.e. like a download, or free give-away, it's the promise that you communicate, and can deliver upon)
• You can also do this with other people’s stuff. i.e. play up the fact that when people create a University account they begin receiving Mike’s 7 Lessons to Attract Prospects to You.
6. OPTIONAL, but smart – you make money on your leads by getting to know (or already knowing) your leads. Stick with a small menu of similarly related monetization products that are congruent with your message.
• When people make a low ticket purchase from you, and the transaction is successful, and you add-on your personal touch value, you’ve gained HUGE trust, and that could, literally, pay you when you introduce a bigger ticket offer or your business to them.
Money is made when you can combine all the above things.
• Notice that not once did I mention anything about “the business.” Not everyone feels the same, but I feel you earn the right to present your primary business after you give. You have to give to earn a take. That’s the Law of the Universe.
• Money is also made when you develop a skill and offer those skills to others.
• Money is made when you do these things consistently over time, generally not right away.
• Although, when you align with a movement, and identify a gap or need in that movement, you can generate substantial monetary growth. What are the “movements” in your area of interest?
Ok, so what does this actually look like on the internet?
This is typical of what you would do, not necessarily in this order.
• You’ve made a Youtube video.
• You’ve written your message from your Youtube video into a Squidoo Lens
• You’ve embedded the Youtube video into your Squidoo Lens
• You’ve written a related article at your Blog or Website i.e. Central Hub
• You’ve optimized each of the aforementioned with proper keyword research
• From your blog or website, or in some cases from your actual secondary content, you link to a capture page where people can receive your email updates.
• You continue to send valuable information. You connect on a more personal basis. This can be done by calling your leads. In some cases, they will call you.
• You introduce your products, services and business.
Let's get more familiar with this process.
• Attract prospects to your hub from secondary social media locations by giving value or being "found" attractive on the front end, or even more simply, people begin to find your hub first without having to create a lot of secondary content.
• Engage these visitors with lots of value. Demonstrate that you've built an audience, or if you don’t have an audience, demonstrate that you understand how to engage in "the conversations." Or you can create these conversations. (That’s what this is all about – NETWORKING). This will get you acknowledgment, and when you're acknowledged, you're beginning to build your reputation or "brand"
Question. What is going to validate you as someone who can really help?
Answer. Deep value.
What is deep value ... deep value is making this realization … if you're not solving people's problems or giving them what THEY want, you're not in business. This is why you see people who've been at this internet attraction marketing thing for so long, haven't gotten any results.
<u>You have to figure out</u>:
1). what you love i.e. what you want your business to be, and
2) How you can make that your business – in this case, the term "business" is giving people what they want.
Personal and Monetary Success comes down to what you always say Mike,
“A balance of training + consistent action = predictable and measurable success over time.”
Woo hoo! Love it.
