Follow Up Training Note On "How I Built My First List" and Attraction Marketing

Sometimes I like to go to Google and just type in my name as a search term:  Mike Klingler

I like to check up on who might be advertising with my name in the paid PPC Adwords area at Google (those are the search results at the very top & the far right side at Google) -- I like to see if everyone's playing fair.

I don't mind if someone uses my name in their advertising as long as they:

A) Promote a product I'm affiliated with (that I created basically) so we're working as partners, or

B) If they promote something I am not affiliated with, that has to be clear in the Ad from the get-go (reasonable right) and shouldn't disparage me in any way, shape or form. Like making fun of my funny broken nose (no, that one is OK... LOL... but I don't want it saying untruthful things, which is reasonable).

Go ahead and click on my name above.  At the time I'm writing this there is a search result on the front page of Google that says:

Welcome to ThaShowOnline.com: Mike Klingler's thoughts on Agloco

This is a great teaching point related to the story I shared in the How I Built My First List course series.

In "How I Built My First List" I shared how I used Attraction Marketing the first time to leverage a movement called Agloco... to build my first list through social marketing (I used a really scrappy blog I threw together as a newbie  and I 'fished' from a forum where people talked about the launch of a new company & opportunity called Agloco).

I compred the Agloco forum to a fishing hole like Twitter where you can 'fish' for prospects as I did at the Agloco forum and my blog was the 'main centralized location' for providing value where I attracted people into my 'circle' and built my first list to 1172 prospects in the first 3 days of going for it.  (You'll notice I am doing the same exact thing to build my list here with Twitter as I did with the Agloco forum).

In the How I Built My First List course I go into detail on how I copied the same strategy in other ways and how you can too by using 5 components (Leverage a movement, provide value, capture the lead, refer to a sales page (optional) and set up a main centralized location for more in-depth value to further build relationships like at a blog, website, OR a YouTube Channel.

You'll notice how I use these 5 components right now and in everything you see me do.  It works for every business, industry, or product.  It allows you to be YOU and choose your favorite ways and tools of implementing your business.

OK... but back to my point.

If you recall that story, I mentioned that I was able to build a following very quickly and attract an audience within the Agloco community by discussing topics and identifying needs and solving problems unique to that audience.  (Pretty simple to do that... note I was brand new to all of this but because I had the formula I was able to quickly identify a need that I could fulfill easily and with no cost which built my list fast there).

Well, when I was searching my name on Google, I found this on the front page.  Someone with a blog who has a following of his own got on my list.  When Agloco failed, he shared an email with his audience that I had shared with my list (of which he had gotten on through my attraction marketing activities).  I don't know this person.  And yet, to this day, almost 2 years later, I benefit from the blog post on his blog where he introduces me and shares part of an email I sent out.  Who knows how many other people with small to large audiences have introduced me to their group while I just go about giving value.  (Point:  You can leverage the same affect by just DOING what we've been teaching).

FOCUS ;-)

What I did to gain the credibility with the Agloco audience wasn't all that difficult.

I just applied the 5 components in my own way.  Could have done it in many ways... the more bold you are (I was bold in that case by offering to do a phone interview with one of Agloco founding members to answer tough questions being raised in their forum) the more exposure you get faster

But even at it's most basic level it works... you build an audience, list and attract sales through increasing credibility with a target audience.

I wrote about that strategy here the other day.

Just thought I'd share another way attraction marketing works residually for you over time (not to mention how it brings massive exposure from places you'll often not even know about)!

Follow through on what we're teaching.  You WILL attract an audience.  That audience will become interested in you.  They will then be interested in what you suggest they do (recommending products, services, to download free information at a lead capture page, go to a sales page, call you for a free consultation, etc).

But do the first part first.

Pitching people before you do this will not bring the desired result and you'll forever be pushing, pushing, pushing... never really getting any momentum EVER.  Do what seems to be the hard part first (give value by following what we teach in How I Built My First List and at Renegade Professional and at this free training video we released just today) and learn to use tools like what we teach here... and it works like a sled going down the snowy hill.  No pushing.  No tugging.  Just enjoy the ride!

Follow up on what I suggest here.

Then things start to roll and people come to you.

Keep it simple.  Don't over complicate this.
