Taking Inventory in your Network Marketing Prospecting

In order to be successful in your prospecting and recruiting efforts you must learn how to inspect what you expect. Successful business owners in all industries understand this principle and develop benchmarks to measure and track their progress.

It is no different in network marketing. To achieve network marketing success it is unrealistic to expect to build a long term business in network marketing when you are not inspecting your business and setting up benchmarks to track your progress.

The key to to success in generating your own leads is to put up big activity numbers.

You can set a goal to recruit 10 people a month in your business. However, you will never recruit 10 people a month until you talk to enough prospects to get 10 people to say yes.

What Numbers Should You Track in Network Marketing Recruiting?

Recruiting success comes down to two things.

You must generate enough leads that you can present your opportunity to.

You must also present your network marketing opportunity to enough people so that some will say yes.

To do this, you must track your prospecting and recruiting numbers.

Here are the following numbers that you should be tracking in your business…

Number of network marketing leads generated.

Number of prospects you invited to a presentation or provided with a presentation tool.

Number of prospects who attended a presentation or viewed a tool.

Number of product sales generated.

Number of distributors recruited.

These five numbers are the foundation in building a large network marketing organization through recruiting.

The Importance of Network Marketing Lead Generation

The foundation of your recruiting efforts is the number of leads you are able to generate on a continuous basis.

Network marketing recruiting is a numbers game and you must talk to a number of people on a regular basis to find some that will join your business.

When you survey networkers who are struggling, one of the most common challenges you will find is that most networkers have nobody to talk to about their business. Remeber that it's a numbers game. The more people you have to contact the more you can attract into your business.

It’s just common sense. You can’t recruit 10 people a month if you aren’t even finding 10 people to talk to about your business each month. Typically you are going to need to generate significantly more leads than the number you want to recruit.

As a rule of thumb, whatever the number is that you want to recruit, you should expect to generate 10 to 100 times as many leads that month. So if you want to recruit 10 distributors this month, you will need to generate anywhere from 100 to 1000 leads to reach that number.

Network Marketing Exposures Lead to New Recruits

It’s not enough to generate leads. The better qualified those leads are, the greater your chances of  exposing  these leads to your business. This is typically done by either inviting them to a presentation or giving them some type of tool for the presentation such as a CD or video.

What you don’t want to do is get in the habit of trying to explain your business to your prospects over the phone or in person. When you try to explain your business, you are giving your prospects just enough information to say no, but not enough information to say yes.

Instead, encourage your prospects to either come out to a presentation or to take a look at some type of tool that does the presentation.

By generating enough leads and exposing enough leads to your MLM opportunity, most will say no but some will say yes. It is the ones who say yes that you will be able to sign up for your business and work with.
